Future - GOING TO
The future verb tense "going to" is used in the following situation:
Planned Events - When a future event that has been planned before the time of speaking.
■I am going to visit Mexico in a few days.
■We are not going to work next week.
■They are going to attend university next year.
Future - WILL.
We use the future- WILL tense when there is no plan or decision to do something before we speak. We make the decision spontaneously at the time of speaking. Look at these examples:
•Hold on. I'll get a pen.
•We will see what we can do to help you.
•Maybe we'll stay in and watch television tonight.
In these examples, we had no firm plan before speaking. The decision is made at the time of speaking.
Future PERFECT (needs 1,2,3 things) will/won't +have+participle
The future perfect tense designates action that will have been completed at a specified time in the future.
see the difference???
Saturday I will finish my housework. (simple future)By Saturday noon, I will have finished my housework. (future perfect)
Further Examples - Look how all these events will have finished by a time in the future... BY is normally used with the future perfect
3. She'll have read the book by the time you arrive.
4. I'm afraid we won't have finished by the end of tomorrow afternoon.
5. What will you have studied by the time you finish college?
Use blog to ask any questions about these tenses. What do you think about the 'future' now !!!
These videos recap my lesson almost exactly!!!

mr.b,
my mom and i were wondering if "I think I'm going to throw up right now!!" is a future going to???
-ansley
Never mind about that! I found the sheet.
Ansley, I am pretty sure that is a future going to.
there is an inference of 'pre-planned' thought in your sentence... you think that based on symptoms that you previously 'thought about' ...
The pre planned thought can be just a few seconds ago...if you get what i mean? hence the appropriate use of 'going to -v- will
The reason we learn about tenses is to trly get a precise understanding 'exactly what' the writer is trying to communicate... Ofen the message is very very slight...
Good question
:-)
Mr. B,
Does everybody have to speak in the radio?
Or can just a few people and the others do like behind the scenes?

Mr. Buxton do we have to write everything on an index card or mind map
for my space thing i have Apollo 1 and so
sry accidenlt presses return anyway my thing only has 1 bullet point but its long is that OK or do i need 2 change something.
David, you can probably juts take away the bullet point and make it a sentence but make sure it isn't a run-on!
nvr mind i found the answer but for our test in Humanities do we have 2 bring in index cards or a mind map cause i don't enjoy studying that way but i will if I have 2.
I never heard anything about that but maybe I am wrong...
