I loved Mr Warton's talk because it really got me thinking about what we have learned in Social Studies.
Just a question. The color coding for the power plans are-
Red= Hook, Topic Sentence, Restate, and Closing Hook.
Blue= Details(P3s)
Green= Topics (P2s)
Mr. Warton's talk was interesting. I liked all of the stories he used to explain his point. It made me think about whether we actually want the free enterprise or not. Overall I liked the Speech:)
Do we have to do our power plan write ups in color???
Mr. Warton's talk made me realize that blacks and others are still stereotyped, which was depressing, because what's so civilized about disliking someone because of race or religion? Despite that, I thought it was interesting to talk back and forth. I love that stuff.
Not only did I like the speech, but also it was helpful. Learning is fun!

I liked Mr Warton's talk. When he talked about the lady in the elevator, I thought it wasn't very nice of her to assume he was going to steal something.

I liked Mr. Warton's talk because it got me to realize that don't judge people by the way the look. It is just like the saying don't judge a book by it's cover.

Mr.Warton's speech made me wonder, what would the world be like if racism had never started?
Mr. warton really made me go back and think about stereo types and the economy. The first thing he said about being the first black male at his job kinda of made me feel bad for him. If you think about if he was the first black in 40 years it must mean that the people that hired him where very stereo typed. I bet there was many blacks that came and asked for the job being smart, intelligent, and creative but they never got hired which really surprised me. Although him taking the job and being the first black male probably inspired many people.

During Mr. Warton's talk I was going to say something about his question," Which do you think made the econmy so bad? The free market or the government?" I was going to say I think it is mostly the free market but I think the government had something to do with it, because in taxes the government was just taking our money and we couldn't spend our money like we wasnt to. Also some people are losing there jobs and not making money and ending up homeless and liveing on the strseets. Over all Mr. warden's speech was very interesting and thank you Mr.Buxton for letting him in and tell us that amazing speech:-D

I now understand more clearly how it feels to be ridiculed because of your appearance. Not only have I learned that you should not judge a person until you get to know them, but also I discovered that it is painful to be stereotyped.

It was very inspirational, and I learned numerous things in his speech. I agree that it is terrible that people think african americans are bad people or suspect that. My favorite part had to be when he told us all those stories they were amazing!!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Warton's talk. He talked about his life, and gave specific examples of how his life was. When he got into the part about his opportunities, I realized how fortunate some people are, like being able to get GOOD schooling, food, clothes etc. Not only did it make me think of that, but also it made me think that when people are stereotyped, they don't feel good at all, and that we should not make assumptions about people. Even though we are all humans, we can really affect a persons mood and emotions by causing emotional pain . Next time you see a person of different skin color, try to make friends with them. If this topic interests you, a very good book I read was called Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry by Mildred D. Taylor

Judging people by the way they look is just crazy. Learning about these things have made me 10 times more interested then i have ever been with social studies. I con not wait until Mr Warton comes back and tells us more of his stories about real life situations. If you think about it it must be horrible to be suspected as a cruel person just because you have a different color skin than most people living around you. His talk was inspiring.
