From puzzling IC's, DC's, and P's to crazy "what is the type of this sentence?" and "do I really need this comma," the test tomorrow could be mind-boggling.
Quin it is a S.S.S teqnique. here are some sentence fluency sentences pleas correct if i am wrong. Until Friday, I will not go to dance. Today was sunny, yet tommorrow it will be cloudy. Not only do i dance, but also i play the violin. Because today was fun, I bet tommorow will be more fun.
If I did anything wrong in my Power Plan for the P1s and P2s can someone please tell me. Here is my Power Plan. Topic: USA
P1-Engaging Open: The sound of young bussinesses trying to sell thier products along the side of the busy streets are just one ways people try to their product in the US.The USA's economic system, free enterprise, allows people many freedoms that were originally on the constitution. Capitalism can make poor citizens rich and responsibilities make the US run smoothly if everyone follows them.
P2-The Freedoms: Our freedoms relate to the constitution because everyone in the US has equal rights and the is part of the constitutionis about.
P2-Capitalism: Capitalism is a system of money that is used in the free market. In capitalism any bussiness man can make a small bussiness a very large company.
P2-Responsibilities: Responsibilities are important for US citizens to follow. Adults and kids have responsibilities that they have to follow.
hey matigan! your power plan is pretty good but instead of doing power 2's in your writing do a topic sentence. Also you dont have many sentence fluency teqniuces try doing sss teqniques or compound complex sentences. The last thing is you need at least 3 power 3's in your piece of writhing. Happy to help!
Thanks Bekah!:-D I do have 3blue sentences but I just didn't include them. I was just asking about my P1s and P2s, but I will try to add some SSS techniques! Thank You!:-)
Independent Clause~ A complete thought or sentence that can stand alone.Ex. Mr.Buxton punctiliously taught us about Free Enterprise on Monday.
Dependent Clause~ A complete thought with a subject and verb, but it cannot stand alone. Ex. While Mr.Buxton taught us
Phrase~ A sentence fragment that is either missing a verb, subject, or both. Ex. In Mr. Buxton’s room
Hints~Don’t forget that words like “in” are prepositional phrases, not verbs.Remember to highlight the nouns and verbs so that you can prove that you are right( do it in homework or Mr. Buxton will have you sit in for recess).

Remember that there is something on your desk that tells the fanboys and the subordinating conjunctions for tomorrows test.
Highlight and look for clues such as subordinating conjunctions and verbs when defining an IC, DC, or P.
Adit you need to put a , after your and.to make it a compound sentence.
remember the "red flag," this shows you the subordinating conjunction, therefore making the clause dependent.

Here is the 3 sentence types:
simple: To be happy is one thing we all want as people.
compound: most of us want to be good people, but some bad men create conflicts.
complex: ALTHOUGH freedom is constantly fought for, someone bad comes from the shadows again.

by the way on complex sentences when it says you dont have to relate can they be related or do they only have to be unrealate

Bekah, I think you can because it says "you don't HAVE to". I guess that could mean you don't have to but you could if you want to.
Thanks to you too Matigan! S.S.S teqniques can make any writhing better trust me!
From stuffed lockers, to a hall filled with kids, and mr. Buxton trubling with the smartboard, school is so crazy!
Mr. Buxton, can you have an infinitive and a compound sentence in one?
Ex. To sail across the five oceans would be a hard task, and it would take many months.

Thomas, I think you can have an infinitive and a compound sentence in one.
Ex. To climb Mt. Everest you must be meticulously, trained, and you must have apt equipment.
From complete Independent clauses, to dependent clauses that can't stand alone, and phrases that are missing some parts, all sentences are unique.
Thanks Gauruv that took some waight off my shoulders
simple sentence: Tom walked into Starbucks.
compound sentence: Jim ran to McDonalds', but he didn't eat anything.
complex sentence: After the football game, it was time to go home.
