The pioneers, Scott and Janis, stand as still as obedient soldiers. The skinny old man has as many wrinkles as an old oak tree. Janie’s blond hair shimmers in the graceful sunlight. Her dotted dress matches the beautiful curtains in their three story house. Beads of sweat trickled down Scott’s face after he had filled barrels with hay from the barn. Janie’s eye’s were as blue as the cloudless sky. Their solemn faces and dragging feet showed their unhappiness. A fragrant smell of burning wax filled the air.

The farmers, Robert and Beth, were staring diligently at their detached farm. With their hands shaking and their knees stuttering, the farmers tried to fight back their tears. The warm misty air was trying to recover from the devastating act that had just happened in the fields. The blazing hot fire had covered all one hundred acres of the land that they owned.

I thought bennet and sophie were very disciptive as well as using figuretive languge, compound and complex sentences, and SSS teqnics.

both of those pieces of writing are really good. u guys did a nice job of "showing, not telling". i really like them.
Mr. Buxton-
the Robert Fulton movie only has about 45 sec. on Fulton then moves to other topics. are there any more videos on him?
kennedy- For h/w do we have anything else than our 2 paces for time shifts, and our southesat region famous person? I thought Lilly and Adit did a fabulos job of showing not telling and figuritive language. the same thing goes with sophie and bennet's piece of writing too.
kennedy- where do you find the movies on our famous people?
The word bank can really help you for your work. Especially, when you need help to describe emotions or feeling that the person can feel.

IN our narritive, is it historical fiction??? can we expand on the basic idea, or do we just have to stick to the facts............

Beck - Sorry, that was the best i could find. You will just have to use the websites for information on him
Lauren - Great question. It IS histroical 'fiction'. You can expand, adapt, invent some of the information but yu must get at least 'some' true facts into the piece as well

Our H/W sheet says "Figurative and Sensory Languege Activity. Watch the videos on the blog and finish the worksheet." Is the worksheet our Narrative worksheet or another worksheet?????

Mattigan, Mr. Buxton said that you have to do the time shift sentences in your Southeast Regions booklet, and you would want to fill up your power plan for your narrative on you famous guy...... in your southeast regions booklet
