Non-fiction Writing: (Due: Wed) - From Week at a Glance Sheet
You willl need facts for a real topic for your final 'non-fiction' essay. Choose a topic you like. Collect facts not whole sentences. Not needed until Wed -BUT we will practice writing up some of these facts using SSS and GRAAB techniques tomorrow. The more facts you have for tomorrow's session- the more sentences you can create in class for this essay.

Themore facts you have the easier it will be to write your non-fiction essay this week.

Mr. Buxton is there a specific category in which our topic has to fall under for the essay? Can you give me an example of a topic sentence so I have an idea of what mine should be like? Thanks.

Mr. Buxton I am having trouble with MY blog. Whenever I type in a link for the gadjet, save and view blog it won't appear there are only like, 4 links but the others don't show. When I go back to gadjets all the links are there though.

Han, an essay is practically what you get when you put together your P1's (power 1's), P2's and P3's as a paragraph. It is also just a non-fiction piece of writing. Just to make sure, Mr. Buxton is my explanation of an essay correct?

han, were just finding facts about our topics. so basically you should already have the p1 and p2, now finding facts for the p3's.
Han, tonight we are collecting facts FOR the essay which we've been studying. The only thing you need is a topic for the essay and some facts which we will be turning into SSS and GRAAB technique sentences with Mr. Buxton tomorrow in class.

For example, my topic might be: Coco Chanel. But my topic sentence would be my power 1 and of course would be about Coco Chanel cause that is my basic theme.

For an idea for your topic maybe think of things you like to do and find something related to that thing. For example: I like designing clothing and Coco Chanel is a very famous fashion designer so i'm doing mine about her.

Han, the La Liga is a spanish soccer league. Look it up.
A quadrangle is a shape with four sides. Quad means four.
