    Just to clarify, particble prases are when you put a verb in the front of the sentence?
    eg. Sitting on the bench,

    Additionlly, What are the notes on Coornating and Subordinating?

  25. Paige- participle phrases are VERB + ING. Ex. Running, playing, laughing, yelling, eating.

    Also, are these the correct definitions and things we need to know:

    maelstrom(n)=whirlpool/twisting/ turning opposite-equanimity

    dire(adj)= an emergency
    opposite- good

    equanimity(n)= perfect calmness/balance
    opposite- wrath

    abated(v)= to decrease/ lessen
    opposite- increase

    wrath(n)= rage/anger
    opposite- calmness

    implacable(adj)= describing a situation that can't be improved
    opposite- I DON'T KNOW HELP

    scrutiny(v/n)= very close examination
    opposite- glance

    palpable(adj)= obvious opposite- intangible

    irony(n/v)= opposite of what was expected opposite- expected

    caucused(v/n)= political meeting
    opposite- no opposite

    concoct(v/n)= mixture
    opposite- no opposite

    symbolism(v/n)= symbols having meanings
    opposite- no opposite

    personification(v/n)= adding human or animal characteristics
    opposite- no opposite

    Please tell me if this is what we need to know and what is the opposite of implacable!!!!
