Week 8 Day 3

Sentence fluency Test is tomorrow. Make sure you are ready!

Study Link 3.6 and finish 3.5/3.6 Math Boxes
IXL B10

Today's speech on Civil Rights was simply superb! We will certainly be reading his book this year. I'm interested to see if you can go 'deep' into the onion and offer some feedback on what you learned or your emotions about what you heard. Try not to state the obvious, but think about his message and  how it might effect us today?
+1 points for 'deep' thoughts and contributions

  2. TO me the US segregation was like a rope pulling contest between the whites and the blacks. In the end the blacks won and got their freedom.

  4. mr. buxton, for social networking, does that mean you can't communicate with, say, your current events partner? For things that you might want other people to have a say in?

  9. Subjectively, the message is that evil will always lose in the end, and goodness will always win in the end. Also, it's not the fighting that matters, it matters about the end product. The Klu Klux Klan were evil, and look at them now. They barely have any power. Dr. Martin Luther King Junior fought for justice, and he won. Two people wanted different ways of claiming fairness, one violent and one non-violent. I think the violence would have come out horrible, with no fairness. The end product was all that mattered, which is why they chose non-violence. The non-violence lead to justice. Is that clear?

  10. Wonder Books: Are we reading two or one chapters? This is really important. The next book club for us, is going to be with us in the center of the fish bowl.

  11. When you work hard for something half the people of your colony doesn't like, in the end you will lose your work. See the presidents that were president in those times could not control all the activity at the same time as the war. So the presi's dont have control. The presi's want there whole country to be united. Instead, all the second-in-command racists thought to treat the negros awfully. KLU KLUK stopped a lot, and so will AL QUEDA. Those things dont just save one country, it sends a message to the whole world. More of the US was colored, so in the end the colored had control. In NAZI time, there was the leap to freedom, that time is had to be a speech and protest to freedom. That is exactly what the negros did, they stood up for them selves.
