Dr. Michael Thompson: Teaching the Keys to Success


Dr. Thompson's speech today should remind you all of the importance being a good friend.

  1. I took away from that speech that actually the peers in the schools have the power over somebody else's day even though that the teachers have the explicit power.

  2. What I took away from Dr.Thompson's speech was this: It doesn't matter if you are popular; it matters if you have 1-2 wonderful friends.

  10. I took away form Dr.Thompson's speech to be grateful for your friends because some people dont have any. Also the only people who can make you feel down is other kids.

  11. What I took away from Dr. Thompson's talk today was that even though teachers have explicit power to make a kid feel a certain way, the kids are the ones with implicit power, and the implicit power has a greater impact than the explicit power.

  12. I took away from Dr.Thompson's speech is that popularity is not important. What's really important is a loyal, adventurous, fun friend. And accept that you have good friends.
