ReplyDeleteAmerica is a country of freedom, and peace, at least it is true for now. With the new law that Arizona is trying to pass, thousands of people could be jailed just because they look like an illegal immigrant. In the video above, the person going for, or trying to enforce the law, clearly states that they can arrest you if you either look like an immigrant, or have no papers to prove that you are able to live in the state. If a nine year old child like myself was walking in Arizona, police would just have the right to do whatever they want to, and throw me into prison because I don't have my identification papers on me, or my passport. Is that fair? I think that this is a terrible idea, and I hope this doesn't get passed.
ReplyDeleteI belive that the law is right in some ways but wrong in others. Think about it the right things about this law being passed is that the illegal immigrants are using our money to pay for things they need but if they are coming here as an illegal immigrant they should try and find there own job at least! The second thing thats good about the law is people shouldn't be allowed here if they are just going to hurt our country in phyiscal and in mind ways because that is not right. If these people that do bad things were not in our country things would be much nicer. Though there are some bad things like Garuruv said if someone was walking down the streets without there paper work that does not give them the right to make them live a country that they had tried so hard to get here. Also poilce should not have the right to dig through your house just because of the color of your skin and thats about it!

ReplyDeleteI thought we believed in equal rights. the officers are judging people on the color of there skin. And also people wold not usually have there papers with them.I mean wold you have your papers with you when you are walking around the neighborhood? any way I don't think this is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteYou have a point on this Bekah. People shouldn't enter Arizona , or any place illegally. Though this law is going to help protect the borders, so illegal immigrants can't come in, but this is going to affect the people who are here LEGALLY as well! It will affect their freedoms. Just because someone looks like an illegal immigrant, they can be treated differently and unfairly which is against the American right of Freedom for everyone.
