Lesson Recap
Going forward, you will ALWAYS be conscious of having to use various types of evidence.
Every full 5 day week, I place the 'Friday Message' on the blog.
(optional) Win +1 if you can write a claim about this video
Dear Mr. Buxton,
ReplyDeleteI think that the claim is that everyone one has something they love and something they are good at. I know this because when Jessica says "i love my school, i love my house, i can do anything and i do everything good", that shows me that she is proud of herself for what she is good at, and she wants to tell everyone what she loves in her life.

Claim: Like people complaining about how roses have thorns, Jessica teaches us to be grateful that thorns have roses.
ReplyDeleteExplanation: This shows that in life, some of us just spend time complaining about what we don't have when we should show gratitude towards what we already have.
Thank you, Mr. Buxton for an awesome week! I learned so much!
I think the claim of the video is, appreciate what you have already rather than wanting things you don't have. Jessica shows this by saying she loves the things she has and can do, instead of things she wants to have. I think that this teaches people that even if things aren't the greatest things in life, still appreciate it, because you have it.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mr. Buxton, for teaching us a lot of things this week!
I think that the claim for this video is, appreciating what you have and being proud of you have. In the video Jessica says and states that she has the things she loves. Jessica teaches us to appreciate what we have and not to complain about it.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mr. Buxton, for helping me out in class and for an awesome week!
I think the claim is that appreciating everything in your life is an important thing and being grateful for what you have will make your life better than just wanting more and being greedy. The evidence for this is the scene in the video where Jessica is stating everything she's grateful for shows that knowing what they have and appreciating it is true happiness.

ReplyDeleteThank you Mr.Buxton for a great week.
ReplyDeleteI think this video is about having a positive attitude, loving and appreciating everything good in your life. This is heavily expressed when Jessica is in front of the mirror saying all of these things. But what also caught my eye was the title which was Jessica's daily affirmations. Affirmations are positive statements that help you deal with negative thoughts. So she does this to deal with her negative thoughts, daily.
ReplyDeleteThanks for teaching us, Mr. Buxton! :D
I think the theme is, Like people who complain about how the a clouded sky has is dark, Jessica teaches us to look for the light that the sun provides.
ReplyDeleteExplanation: Jessica looks at the things she already has and is grateful towards them, instead of longing for the things she doesn't have.
Jessica is teaching the viewers that everyone has an intimidating ladder to climb to get to the top, but at least we have a ladder to climb.
ReplyDeleteLike a baby bird preparing to fly for the first time, Jessica teaches us to not look at all the possible ways that the flight could go wrong, but to look up at the sun and just fly.
ReplyDeleteI think Jessica is trying to teach us, viewers, that like a soaring eagle, it's hard to remember to be grateful for everything when you're looking down at something as tiny as a fly.
ReplyDeleteI think that Jessica is teaching us that we all want what we don't have, but what we have we don't want. She is telling us that we should love what we have because there are people in this world who kill to be in our positions. We are privileged and we shouldn't take our life for granted.
