Beginning of Monologues (Tue x2 people per day)- I am noticing people are 'not' signing up. We will draw names from a hat.The rubic for your delivery is the same as the book club rubic above.

Next Friday, you will write your second 'quote sandwich' for your book club. Your book club should aim to finish reading your book by next Wed,Thur at the latest.

Thirteen and a Half: READING DEEPER INTO TEXT

Reminders:

  • Membean Test tomorrow
  • Membean Minutes (30-40 for last two weeks)
  • Make sure you have chosen your scene AND collected the TEXT for your monologue


We will finish the story tomorrow and continue working in our book clubs.

Book Clubs: Round 2

Make a copy of this file and drop your copy in the RLA folder: Signpost Collection Sheet

H/W - Read your book club book.  You should be on the look out in your fiction book for 'NF topics' that you could do further research on  and N& N moments.

ALL CLASSES - By Friday
Make sure you have a copy of the speech you plan to deliver for your movie monologue. (Can be printed or digital) - You do not have to have learned it yet - I just want to make sure people are starting to get prepared for this assignment.  (Details attached below). This grade will replace your suspense delivery grade if it is stronger when you perform.




The secret word is: Rocky

Suspense Writing

H/W - ALL CLASSES: You should have a COMPLETED FINAL draft of your suspense writing for tomorrow's class  PRINTED - You will not be able to print in class.  DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO PRINT YOUR PIECE - You will receive an organization grade for this.  This is your 'speaking' summative - BE PREPARED!

Tips for preparation



After the readings, each class will vote on 5 categories for certificates. Which do you think you will win? Remember - two stories will be presented to Peer Council for the Pizza Competition! Will YOURS be nominated?
