On Thursday and Friday, you will be given a repeat of the Beginning of Year writing assessment. You will have two sessions to pencil and paper your answer to one of these questions:
Write a narrative about what you like to do in your spare time
or
Write a narrative about what makes you special
You may think about ideas for these questions over the next couple of days. You will only be allowed to do your writing in class, but you can bring in ideas of what you what to write about.

Can we bring in some tips for writing narratives?
is a narrative basically just a essay that answers a question(i wasn't here at the beginning of the year)

Is the singular possessive of Raffles Raffles' or Raffle's? His last name ends with an 's' so I got confused!
well of course that's easy to guess mr buxton was on his i pad yesterday and it did the same thing. Rachel that's a good point... but i still think chinese is boring you can't change that.

I know it isn't because on both Google Docs and Word they underlined it with red... When I did spell suggestions those two were the most probable answers.

Because Sir Stamford Raffles chose to keep the area for The Padang, there have been many events significant to Singapore history.
Maya- as you do not state your 3 reasons, that is a topic sentence, not a thesis statement. Topic sentences are for essays. Persuasive essays have a thesis statement. Right? Anyway, topic sentences never have because.

The second half of your compound sentence doesn't make sense. "There have been many events significant to Singapore history" can't stand alone.
Maddy- it's a complex sentence that Maya wrote.
