Often, stories end where they began. Read the mentor text again from today that is inside your Writing Package titled, 'Life By the Sea' - Notice the full circle ending the author created.

Baseball On A Friday Night
Baseball, I don’t like much of it at all. All you need is a bat and ball, so boring. Hit, run, miss, strike. Really that is all baseball players do. To score hit the ball far and run as fast as you can to bases around the field. So un athletic, you barely run at all.

Is this an ok start for my thing?

I just changed it if it is bad

i am not a really big fan of that opening, Alex.

on the wilf, it says, and i quote, " At least one character is fully described". Does that mean the emotions, because you can't describe everything about a person. There isn't that much space or time.

Baseball On A Friday Night
Baseball, I don’t like much of it at all. In America there is a league called Major League Baseball. Thirty teams play in the league, from all around America. Nine players on a team. Stadiums that are usually for baseball cost four million, and can hold up to at least fifty-thousand people. Players can earn up to 2.5 million dollars. Every team has their own name, personality, and song. For me, the sport is too boring. My life just wondered into baseball when my mom suggested going to a Twins game at Target Field, Minnesota. My feelings drained like a drying up river. My mom knew I extremely disliked baseball, but she soothed my feelings by telling me that it will be fine.
My name is Alex Danielson; I was born somewhere you wouldn’t expect. My blonde hair always stands out more than everyone else’s. By my face, it looks like I am Scandinavian, with my blue eyes. Having a soccer ball in my hands at all times is what I love to do. To have a swimsuit on and be swimming has always been a favorite of mine.

How is this?

mr buxton i think i will need to have a conference with you tomorrow about my narrative.

berrysweetπ said...

mr b, you just posted a silent movie.

Much better Alex - You are clearly speaking in a condescending (vocabulary word) way about baseball. Be careful about using too many one syallble words. However, in this context - your one syllable word usage helps to create emotion.

Sabine - you're first tomorrow... as soon as you arrive !

Yes - when you are talking about a character's habits, opinions, concerns, etc... you are describing your cdharacter

turn up your volume A. :-)

Mr.Buxton, you said
Scott and I were going to do current events tomorrow also.

AJDForTheFuture said...

What my eyes saw as we arrives at the field where seats and seats, looking like they go on forever, as if they were stairs to the sky. The baseball fans screaming for the ball like babies crying for a toy they want. Barrage colored grass being tread on by players. Halls of concessions crowded with people. A JumboScreen up high shows a close up of what is happening on the diamond field.

How about this?

AJDForTheFuture said...

Where is the Spartan video?

berrysweetπ said...

mr b, i did crank up my volume.

Mr.Buxton you didn't give us much homework.

Baseball can get very slow. People leave if the game isn’t interesting. Baseball ends in the night, so everyone is tired of hearing almost zilch cracks. When the pitcher throws the ball, the bat makes a loud “crack” when it meets the ball. Some guys fall a sleep during games! Why does baseball have to be four hours long, I don't have time for that?

How is this?

Jacqueline said...

Thanks for posting on the blog how to print landscape Mr Buxton! :oD

AJDForTheFuture said...

My feet will never step foot in a baseball stadium again! My mom probably read my mind; she started to cheer me up straight away. My opinion about baseball did not change at all. If I had fallen a sleep in front of everybody, I definitely would of gotten in trouble. But my mind fell a sleep 30 minutes after the game started. I don’t get how people watch baseball. It’s not amusing or cool at all.

My mind was full of regrets. My brain was buzzing with one million bad thought about baseball.

Ending. How is it?

berrysweetπ said...

the part where you say " a million bad thoughts", you should change that.

Anonymous said...

That's good Alex. There's no action though. The starting should always be good so your reader will read the rest of the book

Anonymous said...

And people might not like it since baseball is america's national sport

berrysweetπ said...

mr buxton, the book Jumanji has a full circle ending! DEFINETLY!

AJDForTheFuture said...
