Welcome Back

It was really wonderful to meet many of you at Open House yesterday. Your enthusiasm for the new school year certainly felt electric. I look forward to meeting everybody once classes start on Monday.
In our first session together, we will be looking at 'the power of words' and how we can harness this power in our lives.  Everybody will be a little nervous on the first day of school, even your teacher! Make sure you each do what you can to reach out to others around you, especially the new faces you see around campus. One of the best things you can do is purposefully make the effort to introduce yourself to somebody new at recess and/or over lunchtime. - Can you imagine how wonderful that would be if everybody took the time to do or say one act of kindness to somebody they meet on Monday?  - Can you imagine what is possible?

Remember:
"In the end, everything will be O.K. and if it's not OK, it's not the end"

Feel free to leave a comment introducing yourself and talking about what you are most excited about this year!

Hello, I am Jackson Reeves and I am from and grew up in Houston, Texas. I have 7 people in my family and all of the kids attend SAS. When I grow up, I really want to be a mechanical engineer!

Thanks for sharing Jackson. You earned a sigma dollar for doing so. I will let you know what that is soon!

Hello Mr.Buxton I felt lots of emotions today. I was sleepy at the morning woke up at 6:20 and toke the sas bus at 6;50. I asked lots of teacher and I ended up on your HB room. Then I felt a little lonely as I am new and its was really nice that sam and david talked to me. Unfortunately I couldn't have freetime in break because I had to get my account and things set up. I felt a little sad because I didn't know it was unblocked day and missed PE. Also in lunch I didn't eat or meet anyone since I had to change my uniform size. To day was busy!!! um... my favorite part in today period was RLA. I like what I have learnt from you like failing BIG! I learnt that I choose to rejoice that thorns have roses, not complain that roses have thorns. OH and I texted to sam aron and timmy and no one replied yet :( see you tommorow

Thank you for sharing Inyong. It was clearly a very busy day for you. Your reflection on the day showed that some of our key teaching points resonated with you.
It seems that you clearly focused on the 'roses' and not the thorns!
